“人民性”与“公民性”是近几年文坛议论比较多的话题之一。这两种提法尽管在表面上存在着区别,但是,在深层上却是异曲同工的。它们最终都将文学引入了历史决定论的道路。无论是“人民性”,还是“公民性”,都是诉诸于一种历史规范,将文学纳入这个历史规范的现成容器之中。这是20世纪中国文学的一大顽症。文学参与历史、道德建构的时候,如果不立足于自身世界的话,文学将会被历史所抛弃。真正对现实关怀的文学应该立足于文学自足性的基础之上。那些立足于人道主义的立场,与底层者具有深切共鸣的作家,才可能创作真正的底层关怀的作品。

An Analysis of the affinity with the Masses and Citizenship in Literary Argument

Affinity with the masses and citizenship have been hot topics around literary circles these recent years. Different on appearance, though, these two concepts actually refer the same. In general, they lead literature to the path of historical determinism. No matter affinity with the masses or citizenship, seeks for a historical standard and makes it a ready - made container to put literature in. This phenomenon is one of the fatal diseases of the 20th century Chinese literature. Without having a footing on itself, literature will be a-bandoned by history on the way of participation in the construction of history and ethics. Literature which truly cares for reality should base itself on its inner world. Only writers who keep standard of humanitarianism and breathe the same air with the humble ones can create works full of authentic concerns of lower - class people.
