School-based Management in the West and Its Inspiration to China's Research on Educational Management

The school-based management is a new trend to reform the educational management in the West, also a hot issue in China's research on educational management recently. It can be summarized mainly into four aspects: basic concept, academic foundation, management model and principles of the school-based management. What the west-style educational management enlighten us are mainly as follows, i.e., to make the west idea domestic, deepen its efficiency-oriented policy and clarify the relationship between school-based management and public administration.
