论近代湖南西学流布的时差与路径

在明末清初的西学东渐起始期,湖南与东南部省区比较,其引进西方文化的时间要晚近2000年;鸦片战争到甲午战争期间,湖南西学依然呈现滞后状况;清末民初,湖南赶上了以人文社会科学特别是改革社会的政治学为输入重点的西学传播潮流。西学在湖南的流布特点制约着湖南近代历史的走向。

On the Transmitting Time Difference and Path of Learning the West in Hunan Province in Modern Times

At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty China began to study western academic subjects. Compared with other provinces in southeastern part, Hunan province was almost 200 years later in introducing western culture. During the Qpium War and Jiawu War Hunan remained backward in the study. At the end of Qing Dynasty and the beginning of Republic of China, Hunan kept pace with the spreading of western study pinpointing humanistic social studies,especially politics aimed at reforming the society. The transmitting characteristics of western study in Hunan restricted the development of Hunan modern history.
