"雄化女性"、文化身份及其他——兼谈木兰故事的东西方演绎

"替父从军"的木兰题材,是跟"女性自强"、"男女平等"之类话题相联系的,将木兰塑造成"充满阳刚之气"的巾帼英雄形象,原本就是古代东方木兰故事的题中固有之义,在中国女性文化史上无疑具有正面价值和积极意义。同时,借"女扮男装"表达女性理想的木兰文本,它终归不过是一种攀借男权话语(扮男)以谋求女性权利的错位话语形式,也有其命定的局限性。木兰故事这一东方题材经过西方文化的娱乐化包装,将木兰处理成了个既食人间烟火又顽皮可爱的女孩,以种种世俗气息浓厚的搞笑情节取乐大众。并获得了巨大成功,这的确是跨文化传播中饶有意味并值得我们深思的现象。但对于西方人将中国人的文化身份"解读为女性的"的观点,大可不必感到敏感,甚至一味拒绝。

From the Different Interpretations on Hua Mulan's Story in the East and the West to Study the Nature of Chinese Culture

The image of Chinese culture has been regarded as feminine in the West on the basis of gender criticism.To some de- gree,the nature of Chinese traditional culture is with the tendency of feminine,but it does not mean that the culture is lack of masculinity disposition.From study the different interpretations on Hua Mulan's legend in the East and the West,the different discourses has been studied in this paper to grasp the nature and the image of Chinese culture.
