《中国文学》(英文版)农村题材小说翻译选材探析

《中国文学》(英文版)创刊后一直致力于对外译介、传播中国文学与文化。其中,农村题材小说在其译介活动中占有相当比重。从横向上讲,对外展示了英雄的革命农民、受封建社会迫害的愚昧农民、觉醒的新一代农民以及改革时期的农民形象等;从纵向上讲,对外展示了从土地革命到改革开放时期我国农村政策的变迁。杂志的翻译选材,既忠实于建国后我国农村题材文学的演进规律,如实反映国内文学创作轨迹,也在一定程度上实现了对外宣传中国文学与文化的理想效果,树立新中国的新形象。

Analysis of the selection and translation of novels in the theme of rural areas in Chinese Literature

The English version of Chinese Literature has focused on translating and disseminating Chinese culture and literature.Among them,novels in the theme of rural areas occupy a considerable proportion.From lateral aspect,it shows foreigners the revolutionary farmer heroes,peasants with bad habits,awakening peasants and the new farmer images in the reform period.From the vertical sense,it has showed foreigners the change from the agrarian revolution to the reforming and opening up period in China rural areas.The selection of the works is consistent with the development of rural areas after the founding of The people's Republic of China,and faithfully reflects the domestic literary trajectory.To some extent,it shows the propaganda effect of Chinese culture and literature,establishing a new image of new China in the world as well.
