简论绅士阶层与近代报刊

近代报刊的发展对中国近代社会产生了重要影响，本文从绅士阶层着眼，考察了他们在中国近代报刊发展史上所扮演的角色。通过对中国近代报刊史的研究，发现绅士阶层对近代报刊在中国的诞生与发展有着重要的影响：他们之中，有些人为近代报刊的出现和发展提供理论基础，有些人直接创办和主持近代报刊，更多人为近代报刊提供稿件，还有些人为报刊提供了政治、经济条件。这些开明绅士共同促进了近代报刊的发展，但也有一批顽固守旧绅士对近代报刊进行了抵制，他们设置重重障碍阻碍近代报刊的发展。本文通过对绅士阶层概念的梳理，考察绅士阶层与近代报刊发生联系的原因．揭示了绅士阶层与近代报刊之间存在着千丝万缕的关系。

A Brief Analysis of Relationship Between Gentlemen Class and Modern Newspapers

The gentlemen class had a complex relationship with newspapers in the history of modern journalism.In light of the gentleman class,the present paper examines the role they have played in the development history of modern newspapers.In which,someone supplied theoretical foundation for the appearance and development of the modern newspapers,someone initiated and took charge of newspapers directly,more and more people offered contributions to newspapers,some others provided political and economical conditions for newspapers.Also,there were some conservatives who rejected and stunted the development of modern newspapers.This article tries to discuss the reasons of the relationship between gentlemen class and modern newspapers by reviewing the concept of gentlemen class and examining the causes for the connection of the gentlemen class with the modern newspapers to reveal the role of gentlemen class in the development of modern newspapers.
