On Fiction and Its Adaptation into the Movie

Among other literary forms, the narrative quality of fiction determines that it is the most suitable literary form to be adapted into the movie. And most of the outstanding movies are, therefore, adapted from fiction. Consequently, studies on history of fiction are to concern themselves with the modifications and variations while it is turned into the movie. Love stories with a tint of suspension and entertainment, gratifying the reader＇ s expectation are most likely to be adapted into the movie. Writers will reap fame and gain from their adapted works. As a result, wishing to be adapted into the movie has almost become a universal phenomenon. Nonetheless most of contemporary Chinese writers still loftily shy away from this practice with scorn.
