An Analysis of the Power Relations in the Videos Adapted from Movies and TV Dramas

Critical discourse analysis aims to reveal the power relations and ideology hidden in the texts. Enlightened by this the- ory, the power relations behind the videos adapted from movies and ＇IV dramas are explored from the following two aspects： multi-dimensional rebel against power and the complexity of power struggle. Power rebel involves rebel against government dis- course, some power operations in social life as well as movies and TV dramas themselves while the analysis of power struggh fo- cuses on the repeatability and complexity of power relations in the doubh production, distribution and consumption of the adapted videos. The social status and function of adapted videos and the existing problems are further explicated to improve the function of the adapted videos as the spokesman of common people.
