Abstract:The emotionalist school during the Ming and Qing Dynasties takes sentiment as the foundation and expression of sentiment as the ultimate purpose. They think that the nature and function of literature should be viewed in terms of emotionalism and that the emotionalist aesthetic principle is the ideal principle of literary and artistic creation. They try to set sentiment as the law of art and reveal the cultural features, expression patterns and essence of artistic sentiment.
