社会主义市民社会的当代可能性

当代中国市民社会得以兴起的最深刻根源 ,就是以市场为取向的经济体制改革和社会主义市场经济的发展。在今天 ,市民社会作为一个可欲的目标 ,它的达成 ,仍然不能离开发展市场经济这个基础。建构中国市民社会的工作 ,不但论证着在国家能力和市民社会同样弱小的中国实现二者之间正和博弈关系的可欲性 ,而且也展开着某种可行性 ,那就是 ,提高国家能力 ,重构国家机器 ,是以合理界分国家与社会的职能边界、合理确定国家的合法性基础为前提的 ,而有限政府并不会自动成为有效政府 ,国家又必须充分发挥其支持和增进市场有效运作的积极作用 ,以使具有自主性和多元化的社会确保统一和团结。

The Possibility to Construct Socialist Civil Society

The deepest resource of the rise of civil society in contemporary China lies in the reform of economic system oriented to market and the development of socialist market economy. As a desirable goal, the realization of civil society can't be separated from the development of market economy. The improvement of state's ability and the reconstruction of national machine is preconditioned by the reasonable definition of the functional border between state and society and of the base of state's legitimacy. As a limited government can't become a efficient one automatically, the state has to play a positive role in supporting and improving the efficient operation of market, enabling an autonomous and multiple society integrated and united.
