论英语专业课程体系的改革与实践——基于汕头大学英语专业的个案研究

在汕头大学关于教育"国际化"的改革大局中,外语系参照国外一流大学的人才培养模式和课程设置,对英专课程体系作了重大改革,采取了改造旧有课程;调整必修与选修课比例;大力增加专业理论课和跨学科理论课;提早开设理论课程等具体措施,打破了传统英专的教学模式,以全新理念重新打造了与国际接轨的英语专业教学模式,其改革的正确性和可行性已在六年的教学实践中得到了证实。

The Case Study of the English-Major Curriculum Reform of Shantou University

In the education reform in Shantou University launched in 2002, English Department has constructed a new curriculum on the model of first-class Western universities. It re-designs its language training courses, reduces required courses for more optional courses, increases content courses of English major and interdisciplinary subjects, and offers content courses since the first year rather than the third as routinized in English departments in China. The reform breaks up the stereotyped curriculum for English-major teaching and it has been proved effective throughout 6 years' experiment.
