| Abstract: | The images in The Scarlet Letter not only reflect the theme,but also show the religious influence on the author.By the tragic story,Hawthorne wanted to evoke people's re-recognition to sin and punishment.He expressed his negative attitude to Puritanism prejudice and grimness,especially his strong unsatisfaction to the punishment of public explosion.So there were a lot of benefits to study the images in the Bible in The Scarlet Letter in order to learn this point. |
