浅谈儒学对当代环境思想的启示

全球性的环境危机是现代性的危机。现代性不仅使贪婪合法,而且使之合乎道德,多数人对物质财富的贪求导致了全球性的环境危机。儒家对人生意义的理解与现当代人的理解截然不同,儒家的天人关系论对当代环境思想有诸多启示。若有越来越多的人能享受"孔颜之乐",则地球的生态压力会大减;借鉴儒家的天人关系论,我们可找到纠正人类集体道德错误的客观参照系;"赞天地之化育"是好且正当的生活方式。

A Brief Study of Impact from Confucianism upon the Contemporary Environmental Thoughts

The global environmental crisis is the consequence of modernity. Modernity not only makes human greed legal, but also makes it moral. The greedy pursuing of material wealth by majority has brought on gradually the global environmental crisis. The Confucian understanding about the meaning of human life is completely different from modern people's understanding, and the Confucian view on relationship between human being and nature can suggest a lot to contemporary environmental thinking. If more and more people can enjoy the meaning enjoyed by Confucian and Yanhui, the biosphere will be much safer. Learning something from the Confucian views on the relationship between human being and nature, we can hopefully find an objective reference to correct the collective moral wrongs of human being. "Joining the evolving process of Nature" is the good and right way of life.
