| Abstract: | This paper explores into the relationship between the earlier development of WANG Guo-wei's thoughts and Friedrich Paulsen, a German philosopher, focusing on the influence on Wang Guo-wei's earlier thoughts by the latter's conceptions of philosophy and organic history. This paper also tries to reveal the mediating role played by Paulsen in Wang's reception of and alienation from Schopenhauer's philosophy. |
