| Abstract: | Based on Toury's theory of translational norms,this paper explores the phenomenon of translating The Gadfly written by Voynich,an Irish authoress,in China during the 1950s in an attempt to demonstrate that the translator has to make choices between two languages,texts and cultures to make the successful access of the translated version into the target culture,that is,the translator has to adhere to the norms in the target culture. |
