The First "Migration from Hu Guang to Sichuan" and the Well Salt Industry in Three Gorges Area

The first "Migration from Hu Guang(Hunan and Hubei Provinces) to Sichuan"in the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties quickly entered into a high tide in the Three Gorges area partly because of its closeness to the Hu Guang region and the geographical priority of linking with rivers.But more importantly,it was because of the migrating policy for the mass of people to move from Hu Guang to Sichuan Province organized by the early Ming Central government.The appeal of the large number of abandoned salt wells and well industries that needed to be renewed and the special treatment provided by the government of the early Ming Dynasty for the well salt industries made the area the first choice for the immigrants along the river into Sichuan Province.As a result,the well salt industries in the migrated area boomed prosperously for their rapidly growing economic power before the recovery of all the other well salt industries in the whole area of Sichuan Province.
