试论广东基督教的本色化运动

基督教在中国本色化是其自身发展的客观要求 ,是中国基督教的正确选择。广东基督教的传入时间最早 ,教派众多 ,又处于先进思潮不断萌发的地区 ,外界对其自立与本色化的要求也更加强烈。广东基督徒的民族意识、自立意识强 ,在上世纪 2 0年代开始的本色化运动之前 ,广东就已有了不少华人自立教会。在 2 0年代的反教风潮中 ,广东基督教界进行了护教意义上的积极回应 ,并自我反省 ,开始了本色化运动。广东基督教本色化运动的最大成果是中华基督教会广东协会的成立 ,它为广东基督教的本色化提供了有力的组织保障 ,有力地推动了广东教会的本色化进程。文章试图通过对广东基督教本色化运动的全过程的考察 ,说明这一运动是广东基督教界爱国爱教的具体体现 ,也是中西文化融合的进一步深入

On the Movement of Indigenization of Guangdong Christianity

The indigenization of Christianity in China is the objective requirement of its own development as well as the right choice of the Christians in China. The strong sense of nationality and self_independence of Guangdong Christians resulted in the setup of many Chinese churches which were self-independent before the Movement of Indigenization in the 1920's .With the active response to the waves of anti_Christianity in the 1920's, Guangdong Christians commenced the indigenization for the sake of safeguard of Christianity and self_criticism. The most significant outcome of it was embodied in the establishment of the Guangdong Council of the Chinese Christian Church, which provided powerful organization guarantee and accelerated the process for the indigenization of Guangdong Christian churches.The author makes a study on the whole process of the movement in Guangdong and argues that the Christian indigenization was a reflection of the faith of Guangdong's Christian citcle to the home country of China and the Church,and was the intensive,harmonious blending of both Chinese and Western cultures.
