老庄自由及其历史效应

老庄自由是东方特有的自由观 ,它们从理论基础到实现途径都与西方不同。“非汤武而薄周孔”与“独善其身”是老庄自由在历史上的两种政治心态效应 ,其中后者显然是主流。老庄自由没有符合逻辑地成为中国民主政治的优良传统 ,反而给专制主义开了方便之门 ,这有主观和客观两方面的原因

LAO Zi's and ZHUANG Zi's freedom outlook and their historical effects

The freedom outlooks of LAO Zi and ZHUANG Zi, which are oriental, are different from those of the West in theoretical bases and the ways to realize them. In history they have two political effects in mind: one is that they emphasize that Tang in Shang Dynasty and Wu in Zhou Dynasty should be to blame,and that the ethical codes in Zhou Dynasty are too trivial to mention, and the other is that they value the maintenance of one's own integrity. Of the two the latter is, obviously, the mainstream. LAO Zi and ZHUANG Zi's freedom outlooks don't logically become the fine tradition of Chinese democratic politics; on the contrary, they open a way for autocracy. This resulted from both subjective and objective factors.
