学术话语中模糊限制语的人际意义

模糊限制语在学术话语中的使用频率非常高,这与学术话语本身的语类特征有密切关系。传统的语言理论强调学术话语的科学客观性特征,认为其主要目的是向话语社团交流最新的科研成果或信息,因此,学术话语的互动性人际特征一直没有受到足够的重视。交际理论的观点认为学术话语是一种交际方式,作者的写作目的是表述或证明自己的观点并征得话语社团的认可,强调学术交流过程本身就是一种社会互动过程。近年来,模糊限制语作为交际策略在学术话语中的作用越来越受到重视,随着模糊限制语概念的不断发展,其研究视角也由单纯的语义探讨发展至语用策略和语篇建构领域。

Interpersonal Meanings of Hedges in Academic Discourse

The application of hedges in academic discourse has drawn much attention from many researchers abroad.Research findings have shown that the appearance frequency of hedges in academic discourse are relatively high,which is closely related to the genre features of academic discourse.It has widely been known that academic discourse is noted for its scientific objectivity,with transmitting the latest information to academic community as its main goal.The traditional view puts more emphasis on the impersonal features of academic discourse by ignoring its interactive interpersonal features.Communicative theory holds that academic discourse is a communicative means by which the author attempts to present and clarify his views.It is held that the process of academic communication itself is a social interactive process.It has been found that hedges are playing significant roles in academic discourse as an effective strategy of realizing interpersonal meanings.With the development of hedging studies,the conception of hedge has developed from the semantic category beyond into other areas such as pragmatic strategy and discourse construction.This paper intends to discuss the conception of hedging and its applications in academic discourse as a linguistic means of realizing interpersonal meanings in academic communication.And some educational implications and suggestions will be made based on the discussions in the study.
