Abstract:The present paper, based on second language acquisition theories and teaching practice, mainly discusses the importance of students' motivation in study, the personalized learner autonomy, the learning of basic language knowledge and the training of pragmatic competence in the multidimensional teaching of listening and speaking to English majors. It also puts emphasis on the importance of teaching materials, the reform of teaching method, input and output both in and after class.
