语境与英语词汇教学

摘    要:词汇作为语言的重要组成部分,在英语教学中具有举足轻重的地位。孤立的词汇教授和学习模式限制了学习者正确地理解和得体地使用语言,不利于交际能力的培养。而没有语境,就没有语言,语境是理解和解释词义的必要条件。应将词汇教学与语境紧密地结合起来,运用语境确定和推测词义,消除歧义。词汇和语境是相互依存的,词汇教学方法与学习者自主学习意识、学习技巧以及反复操练的有机结合才能有效地提高词汇教学效果。

Abstract:Vocabulary,the essence of a language,plays a very important role in English teaching.However,there exists a big problem in the way of teaching and learning English vocabulary,characterized by being isolated from context,and the result of which is restraining learners'correctly understanding and appropriately using language and hindering their acquiring communicative competence.No context,no language.And context is the premise to understand and interpreter the meaning of a word.Therefore it is essential to incorporate context in the teaching of English vocabulary to guess and determine the word meaning and eliminate ambiguity in communication as well.It is concluded that vocabulary and context are closely interrelated and the effective way of teaching and mastering vocabulary is the realization of learners'self-education awareness cultivation,learning strategy adoption and frequent practice.
