昙鸾未列入净土宗十三祖问题试析

昙鸾是中国佛教净土宗史上一位非常重要的佛门大师,同时也是一位很有争议的人物。其一生信仰经过几次转变,最终选择了弘扬佛教净土法门作为终生的追求。但在传统的中国净土宗祖师世系中,他又是一个默默无闻的人物。他对净土宗所做出的贡献与他后世的沉没形成了鲜明的对比。我们试从地域和佛道之争两个角度分析昙鸾未列入净土宗祖师世系的原因,力图得出一个客观的结论。

An Analysis of Tanluan Being Excluded from Thirteen Ancestry of Pure Land Sect

Tuanluan was both an important and controversial Buddhist in the history of Chinese Buddhism.In his life,he changed his belief several times and finally chose to propagate Pure land of Buddhism as his lifelong career.Although one of traditional Chinese founders of a sect of Buddhism,he remained obscure all his life.His contribution to pure land of Buddhism and his obscurity in ages formed a sharp contrast.The article analyses the reasons for Tanluan' s not being listed into the founders of a sect of Buddhism from two points of view,and tries to give a relatively objective conclusion.
