| Abstract: | This paper studies word order in Chinese from the perspectives of grammar, cognition, logic and pragmatics. It is found out that word order in Chinese is generally in agreement with all these aspects, and that cognition and logic are basic in word order formation and pragmatic factors influence word order in the actual use of language. |
