语言简写对阅读理解的影响

摘    要:以输入假设和图式理论为基础,通过对152名非英语专业二年级学生的随堂测试,探究3种不同类型的语言简写对中国大学生阅读理解的影响。研究结果表明:词汇简写和混合简写对读者的阅读理解有显著提高;句法简写对阅读理解有着轻度阻碍;词汇简写较之混合简写对读者阅读理解的提高更有效,但无显著性。本项研究的结果对于阅读材料编写者和英语教师均有一定的启示。

Abstract:Based on Input Hypothesis and Schema Theory,the current study was conducted to investigate the relative effects of three types of linguistic simplification on reading comprehension by means of a classroom test with 152 non-English major sophomores.Major findings are as follows: both lexical simplification and full simplification significantly facilitated readers' reading comprehension;syntactic simplification slightly debilitated their reading comprehension;in aiding Chinese tertiary EFL learners' reading comprehension,lexical simplification was only slightly more effective than full simplification.The research findings provide implications for material writers and language teachers as well.
