| 摘 要： | 本文简述了东西方文化的差异,探讨了英文-中文或中文-英文翻译中达到"功能对等"的有效途径。作者认为在当今跨文化交际的时代,一个合格的翻译人员应同时具备双语(bilingualism)和二元文化(biculturalism)交际能力,从而在翻译中架起语言和文化的桥梁。

| Abstract: | The paper discusses the effective way to approach to the "Functional Equivalence" in English-Chinese or vice versa translation. The writer believes that in the cross-culture communication in the present world, the successful translation is the one understood and appreciated by the target language reader while well preserving the source language culture. Finally, the paper concludes that a qualified translator is to possess both bilingual-ism and biculturalism caliber to bridge both language and culture gap in translation. |
