Presently,many cities in China are aiming at improving their living environment so as to attain the goal of all-round well-being city life.The building of cities fit for living starts with the principle that "the essential evaluating criterion for a city is people's life",which embodies the holistic harmony between human being and nature and the urban sustainability.A city fit for living is required to be economically developed,ecologically beautiful,abundant in life,convenient and comfortable,and harmonious.The city of Yangzhou,though lagging behind South Jiangsu,holds preponderance in this respect among the three Mid-Jiangsu cities.
