The View of Subjective Being of the Writer in the Historical Poetics of CultureProfessed by the New Historicism

While challenging and dispelling the view of writer's subjective being by the liberal humanities sincethe modern time, the historical poetics of culture professed by the New Historicism reconstructs a new imageof writer's subjective being. It is asserted that writer's subjective being is a kind of cultural endowment and self-formation through artistic activities, with deconstruction and reconstruction going on at the same time, ratherthan something which exists before the literary creation. In the process of literary writing, a writer becomesthe interpretive and investigative subject with respective historical sense, instead of being the pure reflector orcreator. The writer's subversion of the discourse of power and the tolerance of the discourse for this subversiongo side by side in the subjective being of the writer.
