西域传说中的特殊国度

无论是正史"四夷传"还是地理博物类小说所记载的西域地区,都存在着小人国与女儿国这样的特殊国度。小人国的传说既有西南地区僬侥国的史实依据,也深受小大之言等俳词传统的影响;女儿国的传说既有西藏地区东女国的现实投影,也反映了印度传说的流播与接受;西域地区的特殊性使得这些传说在此地汇聚。这些传说除了满足好奇心与求知欲以外,更潜隐着通过强调他族的异质性以凝聚本族的文化功能.

Special Lands in the Legend of the Western Regions

In the literature dealing with the Western Regions,whether in official historical account such as Si Yi Zhuan (account of all foreigners) or novels of geography and natural history,there always exist some special lands such as the land of miniature and girls' land.The legend of the land of miniature has its own historical facts,ie.Jiaoyao Kingdom in southwest China,and also was deeply influenced by comical tradition of Pai Ci (a literary style).The story about girls' land is a real reflection of the Dongn(?) Kingdom in Tibet as well as the exhibition of the spread and acceptance of the legend from India.These legends converged in the Western Begions due to the particularity here.These legends,besides gratifying people's curiosity and thirst for knowledge,bear the cultural function of cohering people of one ethnic group by emphasizing heterogeneity of other ethnic groups.
