Analyzing Althusser' s "Symptom Reading"

The creative view of Louis Althusser's philosophy originates from Jacques Lacan's symptom reading. He is clearly opposed to the " innocent" direct reading in the old theory of reflection, and on the basis of eliminating smart vision, has created the indirect deep-structure reading, i.e., symptom reading. Althusser emphasizes that it is important to see the empty and the missing between the visible texts and thus understand the author s deep-structure theory in writing the text. Althusser uses this finding in his reading of Karl Marx' s Das Kapital .
