| 摘 要： | 20世纪80年代,东南亚一带的部分瑶族从老挝、泰国移居美国。为适应美国的现代化生活,美国瑶族的生计方式发生了根本性的变化。他们被迫放弃了以农维生的生计方式,进入各类公司、私人企业、政府部门从事各种体力劳动或技术、技能工作,或成为企业的管理者、政府机构的公务员,或自办公司、企业。经过二三十年的发展,美国瑶族基本上已从一个刀耕火种的山地农业民族演变为从事现代化生产的都市民族。

| Abstract: | Since 1980s,some Yao people living in Southeast Asia emigrated to America and their means of livelihood changed fundamentally.Having abandoned the traditional living on farming,they entered different companies,private businesses and government and engaged in some physical labor or technical jobs.All through decades of efforts,they have changed into an urban group of people from farmers in mountainous areas. |
