Exploring the Present Specialty Commercial Streets from the History of Chinese Trade Markets

Trade markets are where commodities are exchanged, and commodity circulation is the essential middle link in social reproduction. Based on the principle of making the past serve the present, the paper expounds systematically the course of changes of trade markets from the ancient to the present time, and analyses the characteristics of trade markets in the four historical stages of bartering in the primitive society, retail shop system in the ancient time, combination of markets with retail shops, and the present specialty commercial streets, forming a connecting link between the preceding and the following with a clear historical sequence. This paper may be regarded as a miniature of the history of Chinese trade markets, which not only helps the businessmen on the whole enrich their knowledge but is of important reference value to the management of trade markets.
