中国现代诗学研究是一个复杂的领域。这里有现代诗学与古代诗学的沟通，又有中国诗学和外国诗学的对话。中国现代诗学应当保持以抒情诗为本、推崇体验性的传统诗学观念，同时又在诗对客观世界的历史反省能力和形象性上向西方诗学有所借鉴；中国现代诗学应当保持传统诗学的领悟性、整体性、简洁性的形态特征，同时又在系统性、理论性上向西方诗学有所借鉴；在诗学发展上，中国现代诗学应当保持传统诗学的“通”中求“变”，同时又不拒绝在艺术的探险精神上向西方诗学有所借鉴。这是我一生的梦想。
