Challenges of China's Joining WTO to Ideological & Political Education in Institutions of Higher Learning

China's entering WTO brings about challenges to the ideological and political education in institutions of higher learning: one being the direct penetration of the Western ideology, the second the clash between the Chinese and alien cultures, the third the imminence of the State interests, and the fourth the education in social sciences. Under globalization, institutions of higher learning shall have to adapt themselves to receiving the challenges, enforcing the role of ideological and political education, intensifying the studies of humanities and social sciences, and devising creative theories and conceptions, so that students could be internationally competitive.
