重提语言是一种世界观(上)

本文对长期遭人非议和抵制的洪堡特的语言世界观理论重新进行了考察和剖析。发现每当主流语言学研究陷入困境时 ,语言学家总是想到语言世界观学说中觅求启发 ;中外语言学的发展无不证实语言世界观理论具有较高解释价值 ;语言不能简单地视为任意的符号系统 ,它反映一个民族的思维方式 ,是一个民族和民族文化的印模。这种认识对当前及今后的语言研究有带根本性的指导意义。

In Review of an Old Cencept: Language is a World Outlook

This article presents a fresh investigation and analysis of the world outlook on language put forward by Karl Wilhelm Von Humboldt that has been reproached and resisted ever since,and the findings show that when the traditional schools of linquistics were involved in trouble in the study of language,some linquists tended to gain some enlightenmet from the theory in order to make a great breakthrough.The development of linquistics both in China and abroad confirms us in our opinions that the world outlook on language has greater value for us to explain language phenomena:Language is not a system of arbitrary signs ,but a reflection of the mode of thinking of a given nation and the mold of a nation and its culture.which will be the guidance of the fundamental importance to our studies of language at present and in the comimg years.
