Nasser's Thoughts on Arab Unity and Their Current Implication

Arab unity is the core of Nasserism. The idea of Arab unity, however, is not Nasser's invention. As a revolutionary statesman, on the theory and practice, Nasser had a deep exploration on the ways, relying on force and principles of Arab unity. Nasser emphasized Arab political solidarity and unity, gave the prominence to Egypt's key role in Arab Unity and related Arab unity to social revolution. These are the characteristics of Nasser's Arab unity thoughts. The thoughts of Arab solidarity, social justice and the policy of religion which Nasser emphasized still have much significance in the modern Arab world.
