The Mortal Sense and Mortal Implication in "A Dream in the Red Mansion"

The novel "A Dream in the Red Mansion" is a coronach for the deteriorating feudalism. Artistic images are used to put on display the symptom of the "end of the world" under the disguise of the so-called "prosperous Kangxi and Qianlong Periods". Overwhelmingly shadowing the novel is the strong and choking sense of death. This is in nature a common sense of the time, something that was sent out by the downfallen feudal class at the edge of its death. By using the structure of the novel soaked with this sense, and by using climax to foreground this sense, the author endows the sense with a kind of aesthetic implication.
