From Linguistic Criticism to Criticism of State of Consciousness --an Analytic Angle to the Western Modern Literary Theories

This paper makes a concise sketch on the views of the western modern literary theories (WMLT) It points out that WMLT, starting from symbolic poetry to Russian formalism,formalism, Heidegger' s Poetic art,school of Frankfurt as well as acceptive aesthetics, have all dedicated to the independence and purity of literary language. This paper intends, by protecting and renewing literary language, to fight against the static and out - of - date forms of language and to criticize the main stream of consciousness in the hope of of- fering new ideas to readers.
