犹太人对中世纪西方文化复兴的贡献

犹太人对中世纪西方文化复兴的贡献主要体现在如下三个方面:其一,参与了中世纪盛期拉丁西方人的翻译运动,并在其中担当了一个极为重要的角色;其二,积极投身于科学研究活动,并在医学、天文学、数学、星占学等领域取得了突出的成就;其三,在公元12世纪下半叶至13世纪下半叶的一个世纪中,犹太杰出文化人物占到了所有西方杰出文化人物的21.9%,从而成为中世纪西方文化复兴运动的一股重要力量,并推动了中世纪盛期西方文化地理格局的改观。

Second, they threw themselves actively into the study of sciences, and made outstanding achievements in medicine, astronomy, mathematics, horoscopy, etc. Third , from the second half of 12th century to the second half of 13th century, the outstanding persons of Jew in intellectual activities occupied 21.9% of the total outstanding persons in Latin west, so they became an important force in the medieval renaissance of Latin west, and promoted the changes of the appearance of western cultural geography in the high middle age.
