| 摘 要： | ＂自由＂是维.苏.奈保尔的小说集《在一个自由的国度》的关键词,暗示着这部小说集所关注的主题,但＂自由＂在这部小说集里呈现出不同于传统的含义。本文意在对这部小说集中的三篇小说进行对比分析,来理解后殖民关系中＂自由＂的真正涵义,从而说明即使在殖民关系解除后,人们获得真正自由的希望依然渺茫。

| Abstract: | ＇Freedom＇ is the Key words：of a novel collection of ＇A Free State＇ of Vidiadhar Surajprassad Naipaul,implies the topic given in the novels,yet ＇freedom＇ in it presented connotation of convention.The essay meant to execute comparison and analysis on three novels in the collection to interpret the real implication of ＇freedom＇ in the post-colony,hence to point out that people＇s expectation on freedom obtaining was still beyond beliefs even if the colonial relationship had been abolished. |
