在近年对蔗糖史的研究基础上,阐明了古代中国南方丰富的物产对端午节习俗的深刻影响。南方端午节的习俗正是在蔗糖贸易和糯稻扩散的时代背景中发展起来的,它不仅是唐宋以后工商业和城市发展的产物,也是政治教化、文化传承和经济地域分工共同作用的结果。重要的地理事件包括：晋至两宋领土边界和政治中心的改变造成的人口南迁,以及明清以来海疆的拓展和东南沿海经济中心的确立。蔗糖和糯稻的地理扩散粘合了唐宋之际习俗演变的南北地理界线。

The Expansion of Cane Sugar and Glutinous Rice and the Geographical Borderline of the Customs of the Dragon Boat Festival

Based on the research on the history of the cane sugar in the recent years, this paper clarifies the profound influence of those rich natural resources of the south of ancient China on the Dragon Boat Festival. The custom of Dragon Boat Festival in the south developed under the background of the cane sugar trade and the expansion of the glutinous rice. It was not only the production of the industrial and commercial development and cities growth after the Tang and Song Dynasties, but also a joint result of political enlightenment, cultural heritage, and geographical division of economy. The important geographical events include the southward migration caused by changes of the territorial boundaries and political center during the Jin and Song dynasties, and the expansion of territorial seas and the establishment of the southeast coastal economic center since the Ming and Qing dynasties. The geographical expansion of cane sugar and glutinous rice was closely related to the custom evolution based on the north-south geographical boundaries during the Tang and Song dynasties.
