| 摘 要： | 对"委蛇"一词从文字上进行了考析探讨,认为该词是字各有义的合成词;"委蛇"之"蛇"的读音应是"也"的上古音(同"移"),"也"为"蛇"的古字,其上古音也是"蛇"的上古早期音;词的书写形式多样不能说明其文字就是表音不表义的,而要作具体分析;"双声叠韵之字"不可求诸文字的说法是有失偏颇的.

| Abstract: | This article analyses the literal meaning of the Chinese characters "Wei Yi". The author holds the opinion that the two characters have their own meanings respectively and form a compound when put together. He thinks that it is partial to say that the meaning of an alliterative binome cannot be acquired from its literal form. |
