Inheritance and Creation: On the Tie between the Metamorphosis and the European Classical Literature

One of the European literature tradition is using different materials to describe that man dissimilates into an animal as well as its sufferings and mental outlook after it.Among the types of literature describing man's dissimilating situation,novel can be regarded as in the leading position.And of the novels,the earliest and wholly showing the man's dissimilating situation is Apuleius' Metamorphoses.This novel has carried the European classical literature tradition forward and gained an advantage over it in the aspects of literary forms and writing skills,so it plays an important role on transmission in the history of European literature.
