| Abstract: | The formation of idioms has been closely related to the nation＇s culture to which the language belongs. To some extent,culture is the hotbed for the formation of idioms. The idioms concerning colours are the key consisting elements of English idioms and the reflection of objective things. The essay tries to probe into the different cultural connotations hidden in the English idioms concerning colours through the comparison between Chinese idioms and English ones. |
