Knowledge and talents plays a vital role in the development and progress of society, especially for the new China, which is indispensable for both revolution and construction. Summarizing China's revolution and construction practices and taking Chinese history as a warning, Comrade Deng Xiaoping stuck to and carried on the elder proletarian revolutionists' theory of knowledge and talents. With great foresight, he put forward the thoughts of "respect to knowledge and talents", which is a strategy concerned with the success or failure of Chinese revolution and the Four Modernizations, and the rise or fall of great Chinese nation.
