| Abstract: | Integrating the last census data of Beijing with the results of sampling survey in 2000, the essay analyses the cause of formation of present population scales and the characteristics of Beijing population, discusses the influences on Beijing' s carrying out the strategies of the sustainable development and Beijing' s accomplishing the modernizations ahead of most other regions of the country. |
