Patriarchy and authority worship consciousness in iemoto system

The iemoto is a family or clan with special skills. The iemoto organization, referred to as ＂Folk Mikado System＂, is an important and still active non-relative group in Japanese society. Discussion of this special phenomenon started with the iemoto system＇s characteristics and patriarchal power, followed by an analysis of specific phenomena in iemoto society, such as ancestor worship, authority of skill, orthodox consciousness and succession to a person＇s name. Findings show that patriarchal power of the iemoto is achieved by fabricating household institution. Ancestor worship, authority of skill, orthodox consciousness and succession to a person＇s name are the resources of authority worship rites.
