在文学发展的过程中 ,“家族叙事”是一个世界性主题 ,中国 2 0世纪小说也不例外。在现代文学时期 ,小说的家族叙事倾向于描述封建大家族的衰落过程 ;在所谓“1 7年”时期 ,小说中的乌托邦冲动仍然潜含着家族制度的文化原型。“新时期”小说的家族主题从文化反思的角度 ,全方位地审视家族和家族制度在中国文化中的角色和意义 ,而到 90年代 ,小说则更多地借助于家族隐喻和新的叙述观念来表达自我的存在焦灼和自我对历史的感受

Evolution of the Family Themes of Chinese Fiction in the 20th Century

Modern Chinese fiction with family themes tended to describe the decline of a big feudal family. During the 17 years from 1949 to 1966, the prototype of the traditional family system still underlay collectivization of agriculture, rash development of economy and a Utopian impulse depicted in novels. After 1978, novels with family themes began to look into the role and significance of families and the family system in Chinese culture. In the 1990s, the metaphoric use of families and new narrative forms were developed in novels to express an anxiety about the existence of self and a feeling of history.
