Discussion and Analysis of Watt's International History Study and Ways--Taking his study of the history of World War Ⅱ as example

Prof. Watt is a well-known scholar in the international history field of England, as well as a prolific one. He has written many special works, in addition, chiefly and jointly compiled a great amount of foreign affair files and literature. In his study in recent half century, he has made a great number of achievements hardly reached by others. Let's take his study of World War II as example. His study method mainly embodies in the following three respects: 1) Remarkable international history conception, that is, stressing the linkage and integration of the international relation. 2) Specially valuing and great amount of applying file materials and the concerned persons' diaries and biographies, so as to make the study express positive nature and objective nature. 3) Finely dividing the knowing units of the history, so as to shorten the time unit of knowing the history as well as paying attention to the unimportant action of the conducting body.
