Thoughts on the Legal Protection of the Domain Name

With the development of Internet, the legal protection of the domain name has been the focus of the juridical practice, the dispute on the domain name is challenging the traditional legal system. This paper analyses the legality of the domain name. It explains that the property in the domain name is in fact, a right of the dis-tinctive mark, a new and unique intellectual property. The paper illustrates the types of the domain name regis-tration and its legality. It also makes a suggestion of the perfect protection of the domain name in our country.
