摘    要:图式理论对阅读教学起着重要的作用,笔者从图式理论出发论述背景知识的重要性,并针对我国自学考试英语阅读教材的特点,指出教授阅读课程时,应强调内容背景知识的作用,提高学习者的理解能力。
